Today we are talking about makeup brushes and the must-haves for a perfect makeup application. Let’s get started!
- Foundation brush
This is by no means the only way to apply foundation but it is an option. You can use a sponge, a beauty blender or just your fingers. But if you decide to give the foundation brush a try, buy a flat brush or a stippling one.
- Blush brush
You can use the blush brush for three different purposes – a) to apply blush (of course), b) to apply a contouring powder and c) to apply a highlighter. Start with the contouring powder, then tap off the excess, apply the blush, turn the brush around and with the clean side of it apply the highlighter. Simple as that!
- Concealer brush
If you use a concealer, this one is really a must-have. Even if your foundation brush is not the best quality (… because let’s face it, not everyone wants to spend a fortune on makeup brushes…) it would be a good idea to find a great concealer brush. Look at it this way – your foundation is literally your base, which means you use it only to even everything out and then you go over one more time with the concealer and hide every single imperfection. That way your makeup will look flawless but natural at the same time.
- Flat eyeshadow brush
This one is pretty straight forward. You only use this one to pick up pigment and apply it all over your eyelids.
- Blending brush
With this one you can blend the eyeshadows until everything looks nice and put together. It doesn’t matter if you are doing a smokey eye, natural eye or you are just playing around with the colors, you will achieve the flawless look only with a blending brush.
- Eyeliner brush
And last but not least the eyeliner brush. You can define your eyebrows with it; you can apply your liquid/ gel eyeliner or dark eye shadow to define your lash line. It’s three-in-one brush and I love it for it!
Moral of the story is you don’t need a whole set of 24 makeup brushes and you don’t need to spend a fortune on such a set in order to achieve a flawless look! What do you think? Let me know in the comments below!
