We all want to have long, shiny and healthy hair, right? In order to achieve the hair of our dreams, we need to take good care of it. It is not all about the styling of your hair , it’s more about the preparation process. Let’s be honest healthy hair is beautiful even when it’s not styled. This is why I’m going to show you how to do your own deep conditioning mask at home.
You’ve probably already heard about the wonderful mixture of coconut oil and avocado and the wonders it can do to your hair. I’ve been doing the mask for couple weeks now and I am impressed with the results! Even though I straighten my hair two to three times a week, I manage to keep it healthy and shiny thanks to this hair mask.
Both coconut oil and avocado are known as “superfoods”. They are not only good for your overall health but for your hair and skin as well. Both of the products condition the hair, are effective in treating dandruff, treat dry and itchy scalp, may prevent hair loss and help with the growth of new hair. Coconut oil reduces protein loss in the hair and will help with your split ends. The avocado, on the other hand, is high in vitamins B and E. Vitamin B is essential for hair growth and vitamin E repairs damaged hair.
These are just some of the benefits of the two ingredients that you are going to need for the mask. So, let’s get into it! This is what you are going to need:
- Two tablespoons coconut oil (or less if you hair is short )
- The half of one ripe avocado
- A bowl
- A spoon
How to do it: Put the avocado in the bowl and mash it up using the spoon until it turns into a creamy texture. Add the coconut oil and mix them up. And that’s it! It’s that easy! Apply the mask on your hair, put a hair cap on and let it sit for at least one hour. After that wash and condition your hair as usual.
Try to do it once a week, if your hair is really damaged, you can do it twice a week but be careful not to overdo it because it can make your hair greasy. Good luck!
