Because my lectures started last week, I decided to give you an idea for a simple yet elegant makeup, that you can wear to work or university. Here are the steps I follow with some pictures and a list of the products I’m using.
- Wash your face
It’s very important to start with a clean face. That way you have a fresh base to work with.
Put some moisturizer on, so that you have a hydrated surface to work with. This step will make every other one much easier.
- Prime your face
If you want more polished look then use a primer. The work of the primer is to make your pores less visible and your skin smoother, so that your foundation sits better and lasts longer.
I find that using my fingers gives me the best results because the product gets warmed-up before it even touches the face. You can always use a sponge or a brush, if this is what you are used to.
- Fill in your eyebrows
Filling in the eyebrows is crucial because it gives the face more definition. I find that if your foundation and eyebrows are done right, you can get away with pretty much everything else. So, take your time and make sure you are using the right shade for you.
I recommend using something very subtle, that’s why a good nude palette is always a great choice. The one listed below is one of my favorites because it is versatile and you can achieve many different looks with it. For this particular one I’m using only the third and the fourth shades from left to right.
One of my golden rules is to never skip the blush. It immediately brightens up your face and gives you a healthier look. Smile gently and apply just a little bit on the apples of your cheeks.
Finish up your look by applying a lip gloss. I think a good peachy color suits almost every eye makeup so pick up your favorite one and you are good to go.
